Social Media Disconnect & Reality Check

Hello, Sam here! This post will be short and sweet.
I have a love/hate relationship with social media.
I hate seeing the fakeness, the negativity and the time that it consumes our lives. For many, it has gotten to an unhealthy point and controls our lives so much we have no idea what to do without.
I love it to be the positive energy the world needs. I love it to share my story, inspire others and to help as many people as possible. It can also be a beautiful thing. Despite the statements above there are some good things that come from social media that inspire me and lift me up (if you follow the right people ;))
My #1 mission in life is to help others and inspire them to be the best they can be. With that said, I have decided to take a step back from social media and revaluate how I want to use it or if at all. I plan to write a lengthy post about social media on my blog when I return and tell you all the good that came from this detox.
I will be looking for ways to help others beyond that of a cell phone and encourage everyone else to try this out. I've done it before and just as 'being on your own' teaches you a lot, so does disconnecting from virtuality and diving back into reality. I would also like to say thank you to those that have followed me and reached out and want to see more, I promise you will, but for my own sanity and mental health I need to take a step back and figure out a happy balance to do both.
This isn't goodbye it's see you later and better believe I will report back.
This is my calling as yesterday I disconnected and immediately received 2 signs from the universe that I cannot give up (more to come on that later!). I need to take this step back for me and will come back stronger than ever.
